Do you love the look of wallpaper but feel anxious about committing to something new?
Don't be!
There is a wallpaper to suit everyone and every home. Now, more than ever, designers are pushing the boundaries of what wallpaper can provide,
so jump in and get papering!
Tip number 1.
View wallpaper as a real alternative to paint.
Wallcoverings are not simply for bold tastes or bright palettes. There is a whole realm of subtlety ready to be selected.
From natural self-coloured textures to large scale dominant geometrics the world of wallpaper is expansive.
Tip number 2.
Be more creative!
Wallpaper is not limited to a blanket use. It can add much needed detail to ceilings and also pairs beautifully with panelling. Add framed sections to walls as artwork or paper the back of shelving units to bring pattern to a stark space.
A word of warning however, beware of falling into the trap of a "Feature Wall". They tend to narrow a room by bringing in the focus and this then makes your room feel smaller - not something most of us need to do! Often, the best option is to go a step further and paper it all. Simply choose a pattern or texture suitable for a wrap around the room. Remember those stunning restaurant toilets covered floor to ceiling in vibrant print? Why not duplicate that in the smallest room at home and distract size with impact. If that is a step too far for you, use the camouflage of texture instead and add quiet detail to all your walls. You will be thankful for the luxury of layers to your scheme.
So take the plunge with paper and see how you can bring your home to life.
